VPS Property Services sees double at the Security and Fire Excellence Awards

VPS has been recognised for both its customer care and contribution to standards in the security sector at the IFSEC Security and Fire Excellence Awards this month.

Almost 1,000 of industry professionals gathered at the sell-out gala night at the London Park Lane Hilton to witness the actor James Nesbitt announce the award winners for 2018. The judging panel included Geoff Tate, Chairman, SSAIB, Richard Jenkins, Chief Executive, National Security Inspectorate and Dr Alison Wakefield, Chairman of The Security institute.

VPS had already been a shortlisted finalist in a record five categories, including Security Installer of the Year. Up against competing finalists such as Panasonic and G4S, it was their new market-leading website portal, VPS Insights, that won the Customer Care Initiative of the Year.

“The new portal is so user friendly,” said Sophie Goodwin, Property Administrator for Workman LLP, when the portal was launched this year. “It puts customers’ needs first by delivering the desired information in a quick and simple format. Being able to prioritise reports on the new portal has really helped us pick up the bigger issues and request additional works from VPS.”

Managing Director of VPS Guardians, Doug Edwards, also won the National Security Inspectorate, for Contribution to Standards in the Security Sector, for his initiative in bringing the UK’s leading property guardian companies together to form a standard-benchmarking trade association, The PGPA.
