Beyond Identity and Distology announce partnership

EET

Beyond Identity, the Passwordless identity management provider has formed a strategic partnership with Distology to distribute Beyond Identity’s solutions through its extensive network of IT resellers and MSSPs.

Beyond Identity’s secure authentication stops credential-based attacks and eliminates the risk and friction of passwords. The company’s innovative approach replaces passwords with asymmetric cryptography, the same proven, secure, and scalable technology used to protect trillions of transactions daily across the internet.  Beyond Identity extends the chain of trust established with TLS (modern day SSL) to end users and their devices. The solution enables organisations to leverage the strongest multi-factor authentication possible without requiring users to pick up a second device or enter a one-time code.

Customers also gain significant benefits beyond removing passwords. The cloud-native platform ensures each device is appropriately secure before granting access to applications and other resources. Beyond Identity’s advanced authenticator evaluates device security posture during each access request, enabling organisations to enforce risk and compliance policies and require step-up authentication for higher-risk actions.

“We are beyond excited to be part of Distology’s best-of-breed cybersecurity portfolio,” said Kurt Johnson, VP Strategy & Business Development at Beyond Identity. “As part of our global expansion, we are strongly committed to selling through channel partners throughout Europe, and consider this strategy to be foundational to our success. Distology’s proven expertise in IT and cybersecurity distribution, and their impressive network of security resellers will help us bring secure, continuous risk-based authentication to new markets at a time when organisations are keenly focused on solutions for securing cloud-based resources and hybrid work environments.”

The company was founded by two Silicon Valley legends, Jim Clark and Tom Jermoluk. Chairman Jim Clark is a Silicon Valley icon, having founded several notable technology companies including Silicon Graphics and Netscape. CEO Tom Jermoluk, Jim’s renowned, longtime collaborator, has served as President/COO of Silicon Graphics and Chairman/CEO of @Home Network.

The company has secured $105M USD in funding by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), the notable Silicon Valley venture capital firm, and Koch Disruptive Technologies (KDT), the investment arm of one of the largest private companies in the United States.

Stephen Rowlands, Sales Director for Distology commented:

“We always say that Distology only represents disruptive and best-in-breed solutions, and what we have here is a company that has created the world’s most advanced passwordless identity platform – it’s the very definition of disruptive technology.”

“We can all relate to the frustrations caused by inputting passwords and whilst the security around passwords has undergone a transformation in the past 10 years, it’s still not enough.”

“Many solutions claim to be passwordless, Beyond Identity have gone that step further to provide a truly passwordless experience that is both simple and effective to use. Thanks to the collaborative nature of the product with other technologies such as Okta, we envisage Beyond Identity’s solution will be hugely popular with our partners and their customers and look forward to working closely with the team.”
