Mighton renew membership with Secured by Design

Secured by Design

Mighton Products is one of the latest companies to renew their membership with Secured by Design (SBD), the official police security initiative.

Mighton is a family-owned business based in Cambridgeshire. Established in 1983 by Mike Derham, it is a market-leading window hardware manufacturer with over 2,000 products online.

Avia is Mighton’s latest product development, the ultimate secure smart home security system available for multipoint locking doors. Designed to an extremely high standard, Avia offers complete peace of mind for a home.  Mighton’s Avia Key Fob, Avia Motion Sensor, Avia Smart Socket and Avia Window/Door Sensor have all recently achieved the SBD Secure Connected Device accreditation.

Mike Derham, managing director of Mighton Products, said: “Renewal of our long-standing membership of Secured by Design is a given, as accreditation of security products by SBD offers homeowners and professional buyers at-a-glance confidence that the products will provide the security performance and protection that they are seeking.

“We are very proud of our long association with SBD and that our portfolio of SBD accredited products covers a spectrum of hardware for the most traditional windows, right up to some of the most sophisticated and secure Apple HomeKit-based smart products available in the market today.”

SBD Development Officer Doug Skins said: “I am really pleased that Mighton have renewed their membership with Secured by Design as they have a long association with us, stretching back to 2007 when Mighton’s EcotiltTM became the first timber sash window to be accredited by us.

“Since 2007, Mighton has strengthened their security credentials on a wide range of products, achieving Secured by Design accreditation for a range of the company’s specialist products for windows and doors.  They have also become one of the first companies to achieve our Secured Connected Device accreditation on a number of their products. I look forward to working with them over the coming years”.
